For time and for all eternity

February 28th marked a very special day for the Camps.
Surrounded by family and friends in the Provo, UT temple, Tyler and I were sealed for time and all eternity! We chose the Provo temple, as it was a center point for both of our families to meet. To make it even more special, Grandpa Richards got to perform the sealing. The day really could not have been any more perfect. Besides being a little chillier than AZ, the weather was beautiful and the snow held off until later that afternoon. Ashley Fox captured the day for us, and she is AWESOME! Just take a look below :)

After our sealing, we met up at Pop Pop and Jodi's for a luncheon. Mom and Heidi prepared a delicious pulled pork lunch, after which we played a rousing round of the "newlywed game". It was pretty fun, and nice for our families to get to know the two of us!

It was such a lovely morning, and we are very thankful to those who made the trip to Provo to share in our special day. I am so grateful for temples and the priesthood, and for the opportunity that we have to be sealed for time and all eternity. I don't know what I'd do without my family, and knowing that I get to be with them forever brings so much comfort. God is good and the gospel is amazing!!

It's such a blessing knowing that Tyler and I are finally each other's for not only this life, but for forever. As silly as it may sound, our marriage already feels so different.
I love you Tyler, and am excited for forever!!

One year down...

The weekend of February 15th marked our one year anniversary!
We both had agreed that we wouldn't do anything for each other for Valentines/Anniversary weekend...but I decided you only have 1 first anniversary, so I took matters into my own hands.
(SPOILER ALERT: this was a terrible idea.)

I heard about a cute little place up in Pinetop where you could rent cabins surrounding a lake. There were boats to take out, fishes to be caught, and all around beautiful scenery to be enjoyed. I looked it up...and to my dismay it was booked. But down on the bottom of the web page I saw "Visit our Sister Campus, Lazy Oaks!" so I clicked the link and found Tyler and I a cozy little cabin to stay in for the weekend. From the pictures, everything looked great! The cabins didn't look at all bad, there was a beautiful lake, the options of boats and fishing were still available...what could go wrong?!

Friday rolls around and I left Tyler a note on the garage door to re-pack his bags when he got home and get ready for a great weekend get-a-way! As soon as I got home from work, I packed up the bikes, made sure Tyler had what he needed, and after a stop for dinner at Rubios, up the canyon we went to Pinetop/Lakeside! We arrived at Lazy Oaks a little past 10 pm. I went and found the key to our cabin, and after we  got our bags out of the car, we stepped inside.

I'm pretty sure this "cabin" was once a trailer. I'm also pretty sure it was made in the 60's. The floors were leaning, it smelled like an old folks home, and when I turned down the bed there were hairs all over the sheets. (and not just hairs from someones head...yucky!) I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, go home, or find a hotel.

So, of course, lost it. Here I was, trying to do something nice for my hard-working husband and it was a total failure. Tyler luckily had a bottle of Lysol in his bag, so after deciding we would just stay the night since it was already so late, we sprayed down the sheets and reluctantly climbed into the bed. Now, the heater was on the other side of the cabin, and we couldn't figure out how to warm up the bedroom. So we just snuggled in nice and close and tried to keep warm while trying not to touch any more of the bed than absolutely necessary. HA! What a night!

Needless to say, I probably won't be planning any more surprise vacations for a while.

Back in the comfort of our level floors, clean sheets, and warm house, we enjoyed spending the rest of our anniversary weekend together. I sure love my husband, he is so patient and kind, and takes such great care of me. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him!

Here's to one year of marriage!
May the rest of our years be filled with just as many lovely memories. ;)

Green Valley Hospital

Friday afternoon I headed down to Tucson to visit my hard-working husband!
He was working the Saturday shift so we decided that I'd go visit and hang out in Green Valley for the day. I love visiting Tyler's projects, I think it is so fun to watch him work and do his thing. It's neat being able to see the progress of a building, I'm so bad at trying to picture what it will look like when it's done, but it's sure fun to see it all in the works!

While Tyler was giving me the grand tour, I got to meet a few of his subcontractors. After we were done walking the site, Tyler got a call from one of those subcontractors, Tony. He asked if we could come meet him, that he wanted to show me something. We met up and he pulled out his phone to show me a photo. He explained that when he saw me, he immediately thought of his daughter who passed away 2 years ago. He said that she was my same size, and she dressed in jeans and boots just like I was. It was so sweet to see his eyes light up as he talked about her and as he showed me different photos. I was so honored that I was able to remind this man of his daughter, and I was so humbled that he was willing to share her with me. He said, "I was going to wait and see if we just ran into each other again for me to show you, but my heart was so heavy I had to call!" Seriously, made my day!!

After a hard-day's work, we hopped on our bikes and headed up towards the mountains behind the hospital. It was a pretty grueling ride for me, I didn't realize how uphill it was until we had turned around and were speeding back down to the car! I love riding with Tyler, I'm so grateful he introduced me to the sport. I think every couple needs a sport or hobby that they are able to do together.

It was fun to be able to get down to Ty's project and see all his work from the past few months. I'm so grateful for the hard-worker that he is, and for his willingness to provide for our family. He sure is the best!!

Snow Day

Us Arizonans don't get the opportunity to play in the snow very often...so when there's a crazy huge storm on New Years Eve and even THE VALLEY got a little snow, you've gotta pack up the fam and head up north to play in it!

Jami and Brandon had planned little snow trip for their girls when they learned of the storm, and were kind enough to invite the Heningers and Camps to tag along. So Friday morning we jumped in the car and took off for the snowy land of Payson, AZ.

After driving around Payson trying to find a good sledding area, we ended up waaaaaay up the road in the mountains. We found a nice little spot and after donning on our winter gear, trudged off in the snow to find some sledding gold.
(shout out to my daddy for the amazing photos...you rock!! check out his family blog @ azheninger.blogspot.com)

Little Kiley absolutely LOVED walking through the snow! It was all the way up to her thighs, but that did not stop her from tromping through it! Brookie was a little more weary, but once I set her down in a spot that was more compressed, she loved walking in her cute little rain boots through the snow.

Tyler and Brandon finally found a spot off in the trees that was proclaimed to be The Spot, so the sledding madness began!

Even Mama Ray went down! In fact...I'm pretty sure she went down more than anyone else. haha!

I got Kiley to go with me once, but after that she was more content to just watch. Brookie had no desire to go down, so she just sat and watched. :)

After Kiley had enough watching, she wanted to build a snowman. By now, the poor little girls were so cold they were getting pretty miserable. Jami and Tyler quickly built up a little "Olaf" and after snapping a family photo, we were off.
Brandon and the girls watching...too cold to help!

Thank goodness for the GoPro and being able to get the whole family in the shot!

It was so fun to get all bundled up and romp through the snow for a little bit.
We even got to try out our new snow boots...and I would HIGHLY recommend Sorel boots to anyone living in the snow! My toes weren't cold for even a second...and that never happens!
(I got THESE and Ty got THESE)

Thanks Halls for inviting us to come play!

Brandon put together this awesome film...We love ourselves some Brando Films!!
