Green Valley Hospital

Friday afternoon I headed down to Tucson to visit my hard-working husband!

He was working the Saturday shift so we decided that I'd go visit and hang out in Green Valley for the day. I love visiting Tyler's projects, I think it is so fun to watch him work and do his thing. It's neat being able to see the progress of a building, I'm so bad at trying to picture what it will look like when it's done, but it's sure fun to see it all in the works! 

While Tyler was giving me the grand tour, I got to meet a few of his subcontractors. After we were done walking the site, Tyler got a call from one of those subcontractors, Tony. He asked if we could come meet him, that he wanted to show me something. We met up and he pulled out his phone to show me a photo. He explained that when he saw me, he immediately thought of his daughter who passed away 2 years ago. He said that she was my same size, and she dressed in jeans and boots just like I was. It was so sweet to see his eyes light up as he talked about her and as he showed me different photos. I was so honored that I was able to remind this man of his daughter, and I was so humbled that he was willing to share her with me. He said, "I was going to wait and see if we just ran into each other again for me to show you, but my heart was so heavy I had to call!" Seriously, made my day!!

After a hard-day's work, we hopped on our bikes and headed up towards the mountains behind the hospital. It was a pretty grueling ride for me, I didn't realize how uphill it was until we had turned around and were speeding back down to the car! I love riding with Tyler, I'm so grateful he introduced me to the sport. I think every couple needs a sport or hobby that they are able to do together. 

It was fun to be able to get down to Ty's project and see all his work from the past few months. I'm so grateful for the hard-worker that he is, and for his willingness to provide for our family. He sure is the best!! 

Snow Day

Us Arizonans don't get the opportunity to play in the snow very often...so when there's a crazy huge storm on New Years Eve and even THE VALLEY got a little snow, you've gotta pack up the fam and head up north to play in it! 

Jami and Brandon had planned little snow trip for their girls when they learned of the storm, and were kind enough to invite the Heningers and Camps to tag along. So Friday morning we jumped in the car and took off for the snowy land of Payson, AZ. 

After driving around Payson trying to find a good sledding area, we ended up waaaaaay up the road in the mountains. We found a nice little spot and after donning on our winter gear, trudged off in the snow to find some sledding gold.

Little Kiley absolutely LOVED walking through the snow! It was all the way up to her thighs, but that did not stop her from tromping through it! Brookie was a little more weary, but once I set her down in a spot that was more compressed, she loved walking in her cute little rain boots through the snow. 

Tyler and Brandon finally found a spot off in the trees that was proclaimed to be The Spot, so the sledding madness began!

Even Mama Ray went down! In fact...I'm pretty sure she went down more than anyone else. haha! 

I got Kiley to go with me once, but after that she was more content to just watch. Brookie had no desire to go down, so she just sat and watched. :)

After Kiley had enough watching, she wanted to build a snowman. By now, the poor little girls were so cold they were getting pretty miserable. Jami and Tyler quickly built up a little "Olaf" and after snapping a family photo, we were off.

It was so fun to get all bundled up and romp through the snow for a little bit.

We even got to try out our new snow boots...and I would HIGHLY recommend Sorel boots to anyone living in the snow! My toes weren't cold for even a second...and that never happens!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Christmas Eve morning Tyler and I found ourselves in the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on our way to Salt Lake City. After a quick flight, (which I completely slept through,) we landed in the frigid cold state of Utah, where Matt was kind enough to come pick us up and drive us up to good ol' Rupert, Idaho! 

We spent Christmas Eve in Twin Falls with the Reeds, and it was lovely! 

We ate a delicious dinner and enjoyed each others company. It was so nice to sit and visit.

We love spending time with our grandparents, and since we don't get to see the Reeds very often, we soak up every minute spent with them. Grandpa and Grandma put together a beautiful calendar for each family member compiled of paintings by Grandpa and quotes found by Grandma. The evening passed too quickly, and after many laughs and stories, we packed up the car and headed back to Rupert.

Christmas morning we woke up to this...

MY VERY FIRST WHITE CHRISTMAS!!

When everyone (Garrett) woke up, we gathered together and opened a few presents! 

Santa was good to us this year! :)

Terry whipped up some German Pancakes, a Camp Christmas tradition, and boy oh boy were they tasty!

The rest of the day was spent together, playing games, doing a puzzle, playing in the snow, the boys showing me how to drift in the snow, and Garrett teaching me how to get stuck in a snowbank, and Matt showing me how to be pulled out of it. haha!! 

Definitely a Christmas Day to remember :)

Friday afternoon we went to the Twin Falls Temple.

It was beautiful! Neither Tyler or I had ever been to the Twin Falls temple, and we loved it. 

Fun side story:

I've been fighting a cold, and hadn't been drinking enough water, so there may have been a brief few minutes in the temple where all I remember is waking up to two beautiful angels (Terry and Tyler) looking over me. Yep, I totally fainted. haha! The sweet temple president came and held my hand while I laid on the floor, trying to come to my senses. All the workers were so sweet and helpful, and so worried about me. After I was able to sit up, then stand, walking to the dressing room to change felt good. And believe it or not, walking out of the temple and into the snow felt amazing!! 

Needless to say, our temple visit was cut a little short, but made for a great story. 

Of course, a little fainting spell couldn't keep me from asking for a photo in front of the temple. 

Bless the Camps for humoring me and my photos. ;)

After that excitement, Garrett and Matt came up and met us at Jakers for some dinner.

Grandma and Grandpa Camp came and met us too, and after dinner we went to their house to visit! It was so fun to be together for the evening. Like I mentioned before, since we don't get to see our out-of-town grandparents very often, we so enjoy every moment spent together. 

Saturday was spent at the house, visiting and playing more games! 

Our original plan was to leave Sunday afternoon, but after a quick check of the weather, Tyler and I decided to change our flight to later that afternoon, to beat the snowstorm coming Saturday night. We reluctantly packed up our stuff, and said our goodbyes. 

We were super bummed to leave early, we always have so much fun with our family and hate to cut it short! We definitely can't wait to get back up there. 

Thanks for the memories Camps, it was definitely one Christmas weekend we will never forget! :)

Holly Jolly turns 19.

Thursday morning I found myself on a plane headed towards the lovely Provo, UT! 

It was Holly's 19th birthday, and what better way to celebrate than a surprise visit from her big sis?! 

Sean Wade was kind enough to come pick me up, and after surprising both Holly & Pop Pop we set out for some IHOP. We returned home to find that Sean had left his keys in the booth...so back to IHOP we went, with an extra stop at Krispy Kreme for Holly's free birthday donut.

I was lucky enough to find this as my screen saver after leaving these two alone for less than a minute.

The 'Beehive Bazaar' was going on at the Riverwoods, so Holly and I decided to hit it up. We were not disappointed! It is so neat to see all the talent that is in the Provo area. Holly found a few necklaces and I enjoyed looking at all the art work! 

(It was hard to leave empty handed...there were so many adorable prints I wanted for the house) 

Lunch was at SLABpizza, and it was de-lish! I enjoyed a buffalo chicken 'slice' (more like half a pizza) while Holly went for the classic pepperoni. 

A cruise up the canyon was then in order, so with a little Katy Perry in the stereo, we took off for a quick photo adventure / dance party! :)

As if we hadn't eaten enough already...for dinner we stuffed our bellies even more at Tucanos. 

We decided a trip to the Salt Lake temple lights would be just the thing to walk off all those calories, so after a 2-hour car ride (traffic was INSANE) we met up with Sean, Kandace and Michael and walked around SLC for a bit. The lights were beautiful!! 

Friday morning we woke up, got ready for the day, then went to Kneaders for some breakfast! 

After a quick stop at the BYU bookstore for some chocolate covered cinnamon bears (a Provo must) we packed up and Holly drove me to the airport. 

It was such a fun trip and I'm so glad I got to go!

You are the best little sis I could ever ask for, love you lots!!

Stay-cation Weekend

The past few days Tyler and I took some time off work and had ourselves a little "stay-cation"! 

We took care of different appointments, spent some time at the temple, got stuff done around the house...and made sure to sneak in some time outdoors! I love sending time with Tyler, and with him working out of town, moments like this weekend are precious. We could not have asked for better weather, it was absolutely gorgeous this week. We even got some good rain Thursday morning! With it finally cooling down again, our bike ride and hike were extra enjoyable. :)

Gosh, I sure do love AZ winters!!
